From 2 to 4 March, ASSURED partners travelled to Berlin for the Transport and Climate Change week. Gathering over 250 participants, the conference focused on a major topic for the decarbonisation of transport in our cities: fleet renewal.
In Berlin, project partner UITP shared knowledge from flagship EU-projects such as ASSURED and ZeEUS in two sessions addressing the process of fleet renewal. The first session, led by Arno Kerkhof (UITP Bus Unit Leader), presented the role of the different stakeholders and provided first insights into the technology choice.
The UITP Bus Committee was the leading figure of the second session. Christophe Martin (TEC & Vice-chairman of the UITP Bus Committee) opened the discussion on the main aspects to be included in the UITP Checklist for fleet renewal. This checklist, which will be launched in May (UITP members only), will be a decision support tool for bus operators, municipalities, and PTAs in the process of bus fleet renewal.
UITP would like to thank the workshop participants as well as the organisation partners GIZ and EBRD for their contribution and efforts!
