On 29 April, Stadtwerke Osnabrück played host to the ASSURED Online Demo Launch in their city. Together with the ASSURED Consortium, the European Commission. VUB (Vrije Universiteit Brussel), and UITP (the International Association of Public Transport), Stadtwerke Osnabrück welcomed participants to experience the interoperability between buses and chargers with panto-down technology in real operation.
Welcome words were provided by Stephan Rolfes, CEO SWO, Detlef Gerdts, Head of the Environment and Climate Protection Department, City of Osnabrück, Dario Dubolino from the European Commission, Umberto Guida from UITP, and Maitane Berecibar from VUB.
During the event, the focus was on ASSURED buses and charging infrastructure, with partners VDL Bus & Coach, Irizar, Volvo Bus, Heuliez Bus, Heliox and ABB displaying their buses and chargers. We heard from partner IDIADA how they have tested interoperability in their controlled testing environment.
Finally, one of the agenda points was a roundtable discussion on 'Electrification; A decade of mobility changes', with Stadtwerke Münster, SWO-Netz GmbH and Stadtwerke Osnabrück.
